Both institutions have signed a collaboration agreement that will allow the creation of graduate studies and a university research institute in neurodegenerative diseases.

Josep Joan Moreso, rector of Pompeu Fabra University, and Pasqual Maragall, president of the private Pasqual Maragall Foundation for Research on Alzheimer's, have signed an agreement with the aim of boosting research science in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases.

The agreement will allow the joint collaboration in organizing training activities, particularly in postgraduate studies, which will be held by the UPF, and the creation of a future Research Institute attached to the UPF, with the goal to be an international scientific center of reference on degenerative diseases.

Rector Josep Joan Moreso stressed that today's event marks the beginning of greater collaboration with the Foundation Pasqual Maragall and opens new avenues for joint collaboration. Pasqual Maragall has expressed his satisfaction that the project of the Foundation has, from now on, an academic endorsement thanks to the UPF.
